For the purpose of this event we will be portraying Company G of the 8th Regiment, "The Gobin Guards," named for their former commander, General John P. S. Gobin. Company G would be the first company of the 8th Regiment to be mustered in at Camp Hastings in May of 1898. We will be portraying a mustering in camp on "Soldiers Field" at Mt. Gretna, encamped in the same area that the 3rd Brigade occupied 125 years prior!
